This will be short - I’ve got to get my butt back to the cabin to help with dinner set-up. We had our one local summer meal on Monday night. I don’t actually know distances as my mom did the sourcing before we got here and she doesn’t know off-hand. But everything is from Minnesota, most of it from down near the Twin Cities as that’s the farmers market she went to before driving up here.
We spent the day dealing with Mike’s thumb and then hanging out in town and in the water, letting Mike recover a bit. Dinner was whole chickens on the grill, fresh green beans, peapod salad with green onion and bread from the bakery in town. Not a lot to say beyond that. Fresh, simple fare cooked in season. It was a delicious way to end a busy summer day.
There were nine of us for dinner. This is my brother Danny and our meal.

YUM!
Is that Yum about the food or the guy?!
Hey Dad - I’m guessing Chelee meant the food, not your son. But I could be wrong I guess…
