Sam is home safe and sound and looking spritelier that he has in months. We’re wondering if he’s pretty much been ill since we started giving them raw bones back in June. His horrible retching, like a little old man clearing his throat, is gone. The bounce is back in his step. The sparkle in his eye.

Turns out it was only pancreatitis. Nothing some fluids and antibiotics can’t fix. We got lucky that he passed the bone all on his own. And now we have $878 reasons never to give him a bone again. And none for Jake puppy either.

We’re really glad to have him home. And happy we didn’t have to make any hard decisions. And lucky that we could afford to have him treated and made whole again.

Welcome home Sam. It wasn’t nearly so fun around here without you.
