Hello ladies! Pardon me, we stopped off for some local beer after starting a fire and plopping the turkamungus into the freezer. :)
Anyway, I'm working on T-Day since we've signed up for it again. Sweet potatoes are a no-go since they're too hot-blooded, but we grow cranberries in huge bogs just north of the Colombia River. Mayhaps they belong to Ocean Spray. Well, I know so, but I'm trying to find a small farmer. I might have to call up my heritage for this one. ;)

Thanks Jenni. As there's no northend market this time of year I'm planning to head down to the U-district market next Saturday for most of my provisions. Good to know I can get mushrooms while I'm there!

For cranberries I'm going to check the Sno-Isle Co-op today. If I don't find any there I'm going to check the U-district market, PCC and Central Market as I make my rounds next weekend. We're the 5th largest producer of cranberries, who would expect it to be so hard to find them!

Unfortunately Mike's family doesn't do sweet potatoes. I'm trying to spice things up, but really it's about the most "traditional" menu you can find...

Oh, it's a little far for you, but Found and Foraged Edibles comes to the Ballard and U-Dist farmers' markets and has excellent chantrelles and other mushrooms this time of year.

Let us know where you find your cranberries. I was figuring on PCC for that one.

What about sweet potatoes? I'm taking Saara's suggestion and asking our California visitors to bring goodies local to them.
