I’m a newcomer, and since my blog is already focused on incorporating local ingredients into recipes, I would like to join the Dark Days Challenge through March. I live in New York City and we have plenty of farmers markets here to keep me eating local.

Sorry, just found the poll today. I will probably continue the challenge into May, which is when the majority of farmer’s markets will reopen again, I think. I could certainly write the recap or at least my region once a month if you like.

This is so great that you’re willing to continue this! I wish I could volunteer to take on a weekly recap, but doubt that I am able to keep the promise. What with researching food, finding food, then preparing the food, there isn’t always time to write about said food (as can be evidenced from the post rate on my own blog)!

Perhaps a viable alternative: if the time-drain of the weekly recap is the show stopper, how about if you make the initial Weekly Recap post and leave it up to the participants to do their own recaps in the comments?

Wow! What a response! Looks like we’ll be continuing on. Newcomers are more than welcome as a number of the original participants seem to have dropped out. I’ll leave this open until next Wednesday (Jan 9) as planned. If you’re new and want to join in, be sure to vote and then add your name and location to the list.

Now I just have to figure out how to do the guest writing. There won’t be a recap this week as I like the idea of moving it to every other week instead. I’ll post updated rules and a recap schedule early next week.

I’d like to join and to continue through March. I haven’t officially participated in the challenge yet so I’m not sure if you’re still taking newbies. I have a year round farmer’s market (yeah!) and we eat a lot of local stuff for most of our meals. I would be happy to do a recap - most particularly a regional one .

I’d love to continue and would be very willing to do a guest recap. I think it makes total sense to rotate the recaps through, as I’m sure it’s a tremendous amount of work to do every week.

Laura, I would definitely like to continue participating. But, as a very much rookie blogger (having just started with this challenge), I’m not sure I know enough to deal with the recaps. Possibly I could be coached through the process, but that would be more work for you or someone. If there is some way I can help, I would be glad to do so. Thank you for giving me the motivation to do something I have intended to do for quite a while.
