I signed up for The Growing Challenge through Melinda’s blog. Essentially I’ve committed to growing one more thing from seed than I did last year and writing a weekly post about it. Since I didn’t start anything from seed in 2007 this should be a snap!
I’m hoping to plant a nice garden this year if we can make the big move. Even if we can’t I may try to get a spot in the local P-patch or find room for some container gardening. I’ve started scouting out the various seed catalogs online and I requested a couple of paper copies but they haven’t arrived yet.
To date I’ve got more than 50 varieties of veggies and herbs on my list. That’s a more than I should plant, and significantly more than I’ve managed to keep alive in the past.
I’ll keep you posted as I decide what seeds/starts I really order and why. And then I’m looking forward to posting about my successes and failures here as a garden diary of sorts.

I signed up for Melinda’s challenge too. Unlike you, I think we’ve actually ordered 50 different seeds. Yeah, I have no clue where we’ll plant them all or if we’ll even find room but I like to dabble.
Happy planning and planting.
I am all set to get my catalog from Stark Bros. I get to plant 5 fruit trees in the back and I so looking forward to that. So now the choices will have to be made. That is the hard part.
Laura, I’m so glad you’ve joined in the fun! LOL, I have about 100 different seeds circled in various catalogs. The pretty pictures, and the yummy sounding descriptions… sigh. Anyway, I can’t wait to see your new garden (I’m sure you can’t wait to see it either!).
Alrighty- I tried to join the food challenge, but the list is now locked. Oh well, I am doing it anyways. That’s just how I roll.
