Every night when I get home I’m greeting not only by Mike, but by my menagerie. The first to say hello is always Jake. He’s there with a smile and a wagging tail at the door. Then he follows me around until I sit down with a glass of wine to talk to Mike. And he has to show me just how much he loves me. Pardon the crappy pictures - Mike took them and the flash wasn’t with the camera.
First he climbs in my lap and gives me a kiss.
Then he tucks his head in and forces a snuggles.
After about 10 minutes he’s done and climbs down to go see what else is going on. Of course there are also nights where the only way to get him to chill out and stop pacing is to let him sleep next to you on the couch or in your lap on the chair. This is why you should never let a puppy destined to be a 115 lb. dog sleep in your lap. Later on he won’t understand that’s he’s not a lap dog.

Great pictures! Jake is so cute. He reminds me of one of my childhood dogs, Caesar, an equally large yellow lab. Caesar also thought he was a lap dog, but he eventually learned he was big enough to back in and sit next to you on the couch, front feet on the floor. Sometimes he’d climb up on the footstool and turn around and sit in your lap, front feet still on the stool.
Your dog is so cute and reminds me of my own, much smaller black lab, who also thinks she is a lap dog.
love your hair!
Ah, always nice to see a fellow dog-lover (or dog spoiler?). What a sweetie Jake looks to be. Molly (our Newfoundland) is even bigger. But, fortunately, she does not view herself as a lapdog - just views herself as another person. There are worse ways to be greeted when you get home in the evening!
These pictures are just too cute.
