Hi Everyone this is Angie from Children in the Corn and I’ll be recapping the middle this week. It seems we’re a little light this week, so if I missed a post, just leave a comment here or at my blog and I’ll make sure to get you in here.
After eating 6 servings of oatmeal that day, Katie was in the mood for some veg, and rightly so! Asparagus to be exact. (ooh….asparagus!) And so began an interesting and completely relatable take on the social and moral perils of eating that out of season asparagus. Great post, complete with a link to another post that will swear you off from CA Big Ag for life!
As for me, I made a completely boring meal of Chicken Alfredo out of leftovers, but was sure to make up for the lack of enthusiasm there with lots of shameless baby bunny photos. Cuteness factor way up in our household! The week before I was still nursing a sick family with lots of homemade soups, including my Creamy Potato Soup which is always a big hit with the men in the house.

Aww, thanks! I didn’t post with a submission because I didn’t figure it was worth recapping. Glad you did.
Okay, 2 more posts up! 1 is an ingredient list available in southeastern Minnesota right now. Another is a recipe that, despite its name, was every bit as delicious as the “ready-to-go” stuff I could’ve bought from the co-op’s deli and put over rice.
(Plus, I put it over a rice mix that was 1/2 hand-harvested wild rice! Expensive stuff…and needs to be washed well before cooking, because otherwise it has a funky taste…but about as small-scale and fair labor as it gets around here.)
(Oh, and if people haven’t seen such a rice mix…what I mean is that I mixed it. By stirring. The wild rice part started out as 100% wild rice.)
