Anita, I was thinking the same thing!

I do know how to weld, though - surprise! I actually like it, and I'm good at it, but I haven't really had a use for it. I used to make - ahem - metal sculptures, along with work made of many other materials. It's probably as safe as gardening. Makes you feel very much like being in Flashdance. (Dude, I loved that scene when I was a kid!)

Joan - I dunno, I know how to knit already ;) I kind of figured I'd start with using a rototiller and see where we go from there.

Anita - You're welcome! Mike's possibly bringing one of the trackhoes up to our house for some work and repair. If he gets out the welding equipment I might have to convince him to let me try...

Don't you need to weld, um, I dunno... there's gotta be something on that huge new farm of yours to weld. :D

Well, Laura, if you ever want to do a big metal sculpture on your new property, welding will be a useful skill. Otherwise, maybe not so much. For me, although I am definitely into learning new things these days, I'd have to say that welding would be WAY down on the list. Knitting or gardening sound much safer.
