The biggest stack of paperwork I’ve ever seen

was signed between 3 and 4 pm today. And once we sign another 10 sheets or so on Monday to sell our house all we’re waiting for is everything to be funded and recorded. OMG we’re really buying a farm!

We’re very excited. Everything went as planned, although the changes in financing caused by the sub-prime meltdown were readily apparent. There were WAY more documents to sign than the last time. The escrow agent said our pile was one of the biggest she’s seen lately, and we’re doing a simple straightforward 30 year fixed. What would it have looked like if we were doing something complicated???

Anyway, we’re on track. It seems we really will be moving next Friday.

Just a quick heads-up that if you’re in the Seattle area and are planning to hit the Flower and Garden show tomorrow, I’ll be in the Seattle Tilth booth from 9am – 1:30pm. If you’re at the show, swing on by and say hi. I’ll be the one wearing the chicken t-shirt.

Congratulations! Much as I love my home in Maine, I’d love enough land to raise more of our own food. I hope all goes really well, and that you enjoy every minute of your new place.

Congratulations! It sounds wonderful. I dream of a farm. I think I need to make better use of what I already have tho… Mia from the opposite coast.

  • I would like to comment on Mia. I, too , am from the opposite coast. I am on cape cod. I hope to have a Maine farm one day, but until then I am going to attempt to make a mini farm on under an acre? How much land do you have? I am gonna document it and blog as soon as I can get my site up. Let me know if u are doing the same!
