Shibaguyz - nah, if you'd come last weekend you would have need to bring bottled or drink it with alcohol. Now it's excellent tasting!

Denise - us too. We've gotten an estimate on a couple of options if we have to put in a permanent solution. But both were $3k plus so we're hoping to avoid it.

Annette - I emailed you as I'd love to know what you put in. And yes, a little goes a long way. After you took a shower our whole house would smell vaguely of sulfur.

Allie - yes, but it's hard to serve guests a glass of water when it smells like something died in the well...

The upside is that sulfur is excellent for having clear skin. :)

All the water in Iceland smells like sulfur. It's gross for a bit, but then you get over it. And while I was there, my skin never looked better.

We wound up putting in a 500 gallon aerator on our well for the house water. It's incredible how little of that sulfur smell can create such a huge cloud of foulness when you're inside.

Wow! That sounds like quite the process. Our water is full of rust, but thankfully the whole house filter catches it and it doesn't smell. I hope your problem is "just" bacteria and not something that requires a new well.
