Daily Photo: Spirea?
Jun 10th, 2008 by Laura

I took this more than a week ago and these have now disappeared thanks to the rain and wind of last week. I think it’s a spirea, but I’m not 100% sure.
They remind me of snowballs and somehow make me wistful that spring arrived before I was really done enjoying winter. This bush is about 5′ in diameter - very impressive in full bloom.
Yep, that looks like spirea. We had some pink ones when I was growing up. Either way, I like how delicate they are when they bloom.
Looks like spirea to me too. It’s one of my favorites with it’s faint fragrance of vanilla. Mine bloomed in approximately April and I cut a few branches for a vase in the house.
I like the new photo in the header! I thought to myself, omg, their new farm is amazing! Then, I read the fine print in the bottom. If that was your farm, I was going to be really impressed with what you’ve accomplished in just a few months!!
Hi Laura,
You may remember me from Eat Local challenges. I was writing about spirea myself, recently: Beautiful spirea. I love that vanilla scent as well.
