How great is it?

When one of your favorite farmers invites you to stop by anytime?
I spent yesterday morning setting up and working the PUD booth at the Green Edmonds fair (pretty good event). Afterwards I strolled down to the Edmonds farmer’s market to pick up some fruit, bread, cheese, etc.
As it was the end of the market day the pickings were a bit slim, but Hayley still had a few last ears of corn to cook and sell with butter and salt. Mmmmm. They have the best sweet corn ever, so if I couldn’t have some to take home I was sure as heck going to eat one while I chatted.
I stood and talked to Hayley while I happily munched my corn. I happened to mention that we had moved up by them. She asked where, I told her. Turns out that we’re less than 2 miles from the farm.
Then she gave me the ultimate compliment. She not only invited me to stop by the farm and visit any time, she told me that if I came by when they were planting garlic she would put me to work. How great is that? I never been so excited to be considered farm hand worthy in my life!
Of course now I just have to work up my nerve to actually take her up on the offer. She mentioned that they’re usually around on Mondays and Tuesdays, but that Monday’s they usually have their feet up on the porch after working the markets all weekend. I figure maybe I’ll go by Tuesday right after work if I’m feeling brave.
But really, how cool is that?
That is so coool.
I know I would have spent the rest of the day beaming like an idiot. ..while plotting just when I could make it out there. I would be as nervous as all get out but that one sounds important enough to push through for.
Kind Regards
Belinda
That is totally cool! You have to go. You’re already brave. Look at that garden of yours planted within days of your moving. That’s heroic.
