After a quick dinner I spent tonight finishing my dad’s new website so that he could go live tomorrow. I’m now brain tired and headed to bed. Unfortunately that means you have to wait one more day for the Dark Days recap. My apologies.
If you’ve ever wondered where I write it’s in an arm chair right next to the propane stove that heats our family room and kitchen. Warmest spot in the house, even if the stove is pretty freakin’ ugly.
Replacing it with something more attractive and in keeping with the house is on the list, but way down at the bottom. Oh, and if you’re squinting right now, yes the previous owners did paint each individual brick AND the mortar in between. I often ask Mike what they were thinking – hideous is too nice of a word.
I’m glad to hear you are giving yourself a break on the write up. I am constantly amazed at how much you do there at your not so urban hennery. Hmmm. That brick job really is quite a conversation piece. But, if the fireplace works and keeps you warm, I can see why it would be a ways down the to-do list.
As Joan said, it if keeps you warm on these freezing days/nights, it sounds good to me… though I do agree with you, I wonder what the previous owners were thinking! If nothing else, the time to paint each brick and the mortar!
And no worries about the Dark Days recap – you are so busy, I am impressed at how well you keep up with all the activity, not just at the hennery but your dad’s website, the Dark Days, blogging, and everything else I’m sure occupies your mind and day
