I put in the second round of bush beans yesterday afternoon. In the process I was fascinated to find that the yellow Pencil Pod Wax Beans start out as black seeds.

I’d never think that yellow string beans made black dried beans! How interesting!
I am amazed that an object as small as a seed can grow into a plant and provide food. So humbling, yet rewarding at the same time.

another topic of magical discovery: I am becoming a firm believer of the benefits of ‘no-till’. Several times this year I have watched the ground a couple of hours after it rains–a little mound of dirt will shake and about 3 worms will come up from the spot. We had never seen this before: Thank you Hubby for not fixing the gas leak on the tiller, even though I asked. We will never till again! The dirt is softer than it ever was too.
that -is- cool! it took me a minute to figure out that the beans behind your hand were the seed packet!
I think it’s fascinating too, I also think it’s interesting how different beans have different colored flowers.
First of all, I am in LOVE with this photo! Secondly, this is my first year growing a vegetable garden and I am constantly amazed at all of the different seeds. Mother nature is so fascinating
What gorgeous bean seeds, and what pretty beans they make! Thanks for the reminder to get the summer’s beans going.
