I’ve had Sterling for more than 12 years – we’ve been through a lot together and he’s followed me from Salt Lake City to Seattle to Everett and now to Arlington. We like to joke that he’s the million dollar cat due to the number of times we’ve paid the vet to save him or fix him. But we love him just the same. I’ve often thought about getting another cat, but Sterling defines the term territorial (see the surreal cat fight) and I’ve always worried that it would be a bigger hassle than it’s worth.
But, a turn of events has us functioning as a two cat farm anyway. That turn of events? Well, it’s George.

He’s adopted us and is slowly working up to letting me get within 5 feet of him. He’s been around off and on since last spring, but has now taken up residence under the front porch and decided that we are his and he is ours. Aside from being quite thin (and wholly intact) he looks a lot like Sterling did when he was younger. I’m pretty sure that someone dumped him as none of the neighbors know who he belongs to.
Sterling and George, while not yet bestest friends, are tolerating each other quite well – both were on the porch this morning. I’m hoping we can tame him just a bit, enough to convince him the barn is a better home than the porch and to get him in to the vet for shots and a little snip-snip.
He’s surely a pretty boy, and we’re happy to have him deciding to hang around.

wow, he’s gorgeous. that middle shot with the blue background is especially amazing!
He’s a beautiful cat, just beautiful. Funny how that is that cats adopt us most of the time. Our newest feline addition, Dexter came to use one very cold night last fall. He oddly looks almost exactly like my old cat from high school that was with us for 13 years. We love him and can’t imagine life without him around now.
Hopefully they end up being buddies.
He’s such a handsome fellow!
Oh, he is beautiful!
What a gorgeous cat! Lucky you!
Pretty boy George. Did you see my invite for next Thursday happy hour?
A fine looking puud indeed!
