Saturday night we had friends up for a simple dinner. Before Kevin made us a round of Old Fashioneds we walked out to say hello to the horses. And this is the view that greeted us. I immediately turned around and RAN back in for my camera. We stood and chatted and watched the moon rise as the sunset faded. I love that view.

My God – what a great picture!!! I got started reading your blog for a recipe, I think, and stayed because of the animal stuff. It was fun to watch you get horses, something I’ve been involved in my whole life. I had no idea you lived anyplace with a view like that. Enjoy.
Fantastic photo. I hardly ever get to see Whitehorse and friends with the sunset light on them, but they are so gorgeous. Our view is mainly the other direction, so we get to see the sun set behind Mount Erie. Not as grand, but still pretty.
Incredible photos! The mountains sit there filled with drama!
What kind of lens did you use?
Wonderful to see the Olympic Peaks from such a different angle! STUNNING photo, just breathtaking. I’m so glad you captured it!!!!
Wonderful picture, I was enjoying that lovely harvest moon, too!
gorgeous! we had a big fat moon, too, but no red barn or dog-tooth mountains beneath it
That is an absolutely stunning view from your deck! Our harvest moon was also lovely, but without mountains as a backdrop kinda doesn’t make it nearly as impressive as yours! WOW!
stunning photos, really nice! i admired the moon over the weekend but wasn’t quite able to get a good shot.
Gorgeous shots, Laura! Next place we live (not that we’re planning to move any time soon!), I want a mountain view.
