Last weekend our good friends Ron and Mia came over for dinner after choosing a black lab puppy. They happened to mention (like 18 times) that there was one male puppy left and wouldn’t it be fun to have brothers. We’ve been casually considering a puppy since we lost Sam last summer (he was 13!) [...] Going to the Beach, Fort Ebey, Whidbey Island I’m sometimes at a loss as to what to show people when they come to visit. When it’s your youngest brother and his two dogs, it can make the decision even harder. On Monday, Sam and I took the three dogs (Sky, Jake and Marley) out to [...] Mike and Jake are cuddling on the couch while we watch bad Tuesday night TV. I’d feel left out except that they’re just so cute together… The chicks are 4 weeks old now and it’s time to get them out to the new broiler shed and give them access to the great outdoors. This weekend is a big push to try to get the project finished so we can move them tomorrow afternoon. Today Mike worked on putting in windows and a [...] With some inexpensive garden netting, Mike and I got protection up over half of the hen yard this afternoon. We’re going to see if it can take the tension before we stretch the other piece over the rest of the yard. There are other, higher quality, options out there. But they’re about 10x the cost [...] We spent most of today outside getting stuff done. Stuff included moving the rest of the plants displaced by the fence/driveway project (details later), sweeping the porch, pulling out the now defunct (and smelly) Brussels Sprouts, setting fence rails and getting the first of the onion seeds into the flat.
