I’m not sure what happens at your house before 7:30 am? Around here, it’s a lot. On Sunday morning, I happened to have my phone in my pocket and decided to do an “early morning in the life of” photos. I’m a lazy stall cleaner. Monday through Friday, Katie (our fantastic neighbor) cleans stalls for us. [...] Yesterday was the “great chicken harvest of 2010″. A fantastic mix of friends, family and acquaintances came together to butcher 99 broilers for our freezers. It’s amazing how much faster and more confident we’ve gotten in this process over the past two years – once we all got our “muscle memory” back, and got the [...] Spring arrived with a bit of a warm bluster around here. It wasn’t quite the day we’d planned, for a lot of reasons, but spring began anyway and it started with cleaning and seedlings. While Mike turned the manure/compost pile and managed the brush burning pile, I organized seedlings and hauled chicken feed various places. So [...] Delancey :: bar and kitchen Yesterday wasn’t a big birthday, but it was my birthday nonetheless and sometimes you have to celebrate even the unexciting years in a BIG way. Hence the fun fest that was the last 4 days… On Friday, while I was finishing up a paper at work, Jen, Jeanne and [...] Bessy can’t believe tbeen 2 years to the day since we moved up here from our house in the city, and neither can we. A lot has happened, a lot has changed, a lot remains the same. I really planned to do this date more justice than it seems I’m going to tonight. But… Yay! Two [...] Next Thursday, 100 peepers will be arriving via US Post. It’s about a month earlier than last year because we’re planning to have them grown, butchered and in the freezer before Memorial Day.
