Mike and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary this past Saturday. We were married at the Admiralty Head Lighthouse on Whidbey Island with 16 very special people in attendance. After the ceremony (and a quick climb to the top of the lighthouse) we celebrated with dinner at the Inn at Langley. Ever since, we’ve talked about [...] I know what you’re thinking, that summer came weeks ago on the Solstice. But here in Seattle summer rarely shows up before the 5th of July and this year was no exception. We spent the 3rd and 4th in down vests and long pants, enjoying the long weekend but wishing it was warmer. Then, predictably, [...] As previously mentioned, I’m in MN visiting my family. I decided to take a mini-vacation here (sans Mike) before the garden and horses got into full swing. Seemed that as long as summer really wasn’t going to arrive in Seattle before the end of June I might as well come here and enjoy a bit [...] I’m in minnesota visiting my family and the weather has been, shall we say, temperamental. It’s like the state wanted to welcome me home. I’ve got lots of photos to share, but we’re on our way to the Minneapolis farmers market and the to float the minnehaha creek this afternoon. But, in the meantime, here’s a little [...] We had Mike’s mom up for dinner tonight and as the menu came together I realized that two of my favorite things were on it – artichokes and chive blossoms. The artichokes were from California (oh no!) but since it’s choke season down there and we’re still months away I justified them because, you know, I [...] I like pizza, how about you? I’m hoping that by offering you pizza, you’ll let me come back to talk to you… Even though I haven’t done the last Dark Days post and I’m not sure when I’ll get to it?
