This post is LATE, but I’m going to put it up anyway. I’ve got no pictures of the beans I made, as the camera battery died just after I snapped this one of Jake hoping there was a bit of bacon coming his way. After a “not so late” New Year’s eve celebration, we awoke fairly [...] If you’ve been wondering where the garden photos are, I have to tell you that I haven’t taken many this year. Partly because it’s so weedy that I’m embarrassed and partly just because it’s been such harsh light. The garden is feeding us, but it’s not the bounty of last year. I think it’s a [...] After our ride I came home and topped pounds and pounds of beans for the freezer and dilly beans. Then I set about blanching, vacuum packing and freezing the dragon beans and the flat beans (need to look up the variety). I don’t have a scientific method. Essentially I set my silicone steamer basket in the [...] I put in the second round of bush beans yesterday afternoon. In the process I was fascinated to find that the yellow Pencil Pod Wax Beans start out as black seeds. Whodathunk? |
