This weekend was enough to make us think that spring had come to Seattle. But alas, it’s just a bit of nice weather that will be replaced by rain again later this week. We worked on the bathroom a bit this weekend, but we also just got out and enjoyed the sun. I pulled some winter [...] Aunts Betsy, Susie & me with Peanuts the Pony As far back as I can remember there were ponies. First there was Peanuts our shetland pony. He lived in the barn with crazy white Qeony and her spotted sons Travis, Blaze and Shane. At age 7, after what I can only assume was much asking, I [...] Apparently Cody has an aversion to his right front shoe - or at least to wearing it for longer than 7 weeks at a time. This is the second shoe job in a row that he’s pulled his right shoe off two weeks before he was due to have it replaced anyway. He did a [...] This isn’t a current picture of the barn (I’m lazy you see), but imagine that where that garbage can and those bales are is my potting table. And between those and the front of the barn are the baskets of potatoes and pepper we harvested this year, waiting for us to figure out where to [...] I keep thinking that I’m about to get back into the blogging swing, and then there’s yet more work to be done before we settle in for winter. This weekend and the next two should be the last big pushes with the end of canning and hopefully a break in the rain to put the [...] Of the many photos I took in Winthrop two weeks ago, these two are my favorites. The top one because the sense of calm that was in the air that morning comes through so wonderfully. The one below because this view pretty much defines everything I loved about this summer. We’ve let the horses back out on the pasture - mostly because having them full time in the barnyard was hard on us and them, and the grass is slowly coming back.
