Bessy can’t believe tbeen 2 years to the day since we moved up here from our house in the city, and neither can we. A lot has happened, a lot has changed, a lot remains the same. I really planned to do this date more justice than it seems I’m going to tonight. But… Yay! Two [...] Just a quick post before I dash off to work (finally!). Check out the cute that arrived at the Post Office this morning! It’s been a crazy morning. The call came at 6:30 from the post office, earlier than usual by more than an hour. I had to rush around setting up feeders and waterers and [...] Next Thursday, 100 peepers will be arriving via US Post. It’s about a month earlier than last year because we’re planning to have them grown, butchered and in the freezer before Memorial Day. We’re looking forward to going into summer without feeding them twice a day. Of course, nothing is ever easy on a farmette that’s [...] It surprised me the other day to realize that there are 24 of us living on the farmette full time right now. Mike and I, Jake the dog, Sterling and George the cats, Cody and Whiskey the horses and 17 hens of various breeds. No wonder it seems like you’re never alone around here… No sooner [...] Aunts Betsy, Susie & me with Peanuts the Pony As far back as I can remember there were ponies. First there was Peanuts our shetland pony. He lived in the barn with crazy white Qeony and her spotted sons Travis, Blaze and Shane. At age 7, after what I can only assume was much asking, I [...] When we bought the farmette two years ago, there were plenty of buildings, but the electric service was spotty. Last April we had the panels in the house, pump house and garage replaced and one added in the barn. We also had the service/meter upgraded at the same time. Since we were already paying the electrician [...] We’re sending Christmas cards for the first time since we got married 5 years ago. We probably won’t hit all of you with a printed copy since we’re trying to limit how many trees we kill (well, it’s 100% recycled paper, but you know). Plus, we don’t have addresses for all you Merry Christmas, [...] |
