We had grand plans to cook moose steaks tonight, but we didn’t get them out of the freezer in time to make that happen. Instead we made use of a few simple ingredients and enjoyed bowls of homemade pasta with local butter, parsley and parmesan. The eggs for the pasta came from the girls and the [...] Mike and Jake are tired of duck hunting. Or rather, I think Mike is tired of corralling an energetic three year old lab so that he can duck hunt. They’ve taken up pheasant hunting as an option where Jake gets to run and run and run and Mike doesn’t have to get up at o-dark-thirty. [...] I’ve got that crappy early winter cold that’s going around right now. The one that takes up residence in your sinuses and declares that it is NEVER going to leave.
